Style Highlights: Elle Fanning

Elle Fanning is in the new-ish movie, Somewhere. I haven't seen it but the trailer is divine. Link here. But not only is the little sister of Dakota Fanning get rave reviews for her acting. But she's also taking the fashion world by storm. This budding fashionista seems to be everywhere. And from her pictures it isn't hard to tell why.

Elle Fanning in Marchesa [left]. Elle Fanning in a layered plaid dress paired with lace stockings and Doc Martins [right].

Elle looks angelic in this simple, yet sweet, dress from the lovely ladies at Marchesa. Her simple hair and lack of jewelry help highlight the beauty and intricate detailing of the dress. The little flare at the hemline seems like a insignificant detail but it holds a big impact. A simple pair of black mary-janes complete the look.

This look is in the total opposite end of the spectrum. But she still looks fabulous. The chaotic mix of ruffles, layers, and plaid may have looked overwhelming on another lady but Elle pulls off this look with a sweet smile and bold confidence. The maroon lace stockings are an unexpected, yet perfectly fitting, accessory. As are the brown and busted Doc Martins.

Elle Fanning in a structured black mini with a big bow detail [left] and Valentino [right].

Elle looks elegant in this structured black gown. The color contrasts beautifully against her pale skin. The bow detail from her dress is mimicked on her printed flats. The milkmaid braid on the top of her head is lovely in its simplicity. Again, Elle keeps the look young and fresh with no jewelry.

This Valentino dress is genius. The way the colors, prints, and textures work together keeps the eye interested and intrigued. Elle pulls her hair back as to not overwhelm the eye-catching patterns and prints of the dress. She also wears no jewelry and keeps her heels a simple nude to keep the attention on the gown and not the unnecessary accessories. Elle looks truly stunning.

Vanessa Hudgens at New York Fashion Week

Over the coarse of NYFW, Vanessa Hudgens was a very busy girl. She made an appearance at no less than nine runway shows/presentations. It may not seem like a lot but in a world where some ladies make it to one, maybe two, events during the week, Vanessa is a heavy-weight champion.

The lovely star also made an appearance at the Marc Jacobs show [put I didn't really care for her outfit so I decided not to post it]. This girl was extremely busy, going from show to show. I'm impressed with her stamina. What looks are your favorite?

Style Highlights: Hailee Steinfeld

Hailee Steifeld has been making waves in the fashion and movie worlds ever since she made her debut in True Grit alongside Hollywood vets Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon. Although she's only fourteen, Hailee has been appearing on red carpets wowing critics with her young yet elegant style.

Hailee Steinfeld in Marchesa [left] and Prabal Gurung [right].

Hailee looks refreshing in this blush-nude Marchesa gown. It is romantic and sweet. She styles them with this beautiful geometric nude heels that make her appear taller and slimmmer--not that she needs to. The hemline is tasteful and she looks her age without looking kiddish.

For the golden globes, the first-time nominee wore white. But instead of thinking bridal we were stunned by the confidence Hailee projected as she walked the red carpet. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail, helping her look young in this minimalistic gown. The proportions are lovely and the absense of too much jewelry was a great call.

Hailee Steinfeld in Prada [left] and Moschino Cheap and Chic [left].

Hailee in Prada? Perfection! Her slim frame is able to handle the large and bold stripes of the gown. Her simple wavey hair compliments the structure lines and adds movement to the look. She kept with simple makeup and no jewelry save for a bold red ring on her right hand. Hailee, normally looking so prim and formal, looks lovely. This is young and beautiful.

Hailee decided to go a bit more simplistic this event. She chose a simple black dress and patent leather mary-janes in black. She accent the look with a simple bracelet and pulled her hair back into a soft side pony. The gown seems to skim her body rather than cling to it. This was a brilliant choice on Hailee's part. Lovely.

Red Carpet Alert!: Metallics

Metallics have always been a favorite but in the last few weeks the number of stars sporting their favorite shimmery color on the red carpet has exploded. From Hollywood vets, like Sandra Bullock, to relative newcomers, like Olivia Wilde, all these women look like the shiny statue that all actresses covet. What do you think about this metallic trend?

Red Carpet Alert!: Lots of Lace

Lace is on the carpet every year. It almost seems as if its worn everyday. But it stcks around because lace is elegant, sophsticated, and looks great on women of all sizes. Wonder what famous faces have been sporting this classic look? Ladies like Emma Watson, Lauren Conrad, and so many more! Just check it below.

Emma Watson in Rafael Lopez for Atelier Mayer [left] and Alexa Chung in Chanel [right].

Brits know how to rock delicate lace. But then Chung and Watson know how to manipulate any trend to make it work for them. Both of them are British powerhouses in the world of fashion. Adore the feathers on the bottom of Watson's dress and the unexpected band of lace around her middle.

Lauren Conrad in Marchesa [left] and Eva Longoria in a nude gown with lace overlay [right].

Lauren's look has to be my favorite. Probably because a great white moment is perfection. Add a messy bun and nude heels and the look is complete. Speaking of nude, Longoria is breathtaking in her Old Hollywood inspired gown.

Sarah Jessica Parker [left] and Kate Bosworth [right] both in Burberry.

Burberry. The word jsut always puts a smile on my face. And both these ladies look amazing in lace. Parker's pale pink Alexander McQueen bag adds a nice pop of color to a mostly neutral look. And Bosworth looks stunning in cream. Simply adore!

With so many ways to use lace, is there any question why these lovely ladies love the look? [nice use of alliteration, huh? my english teacher would be so proud] Which look is your favorite? I'm always a sucker for Burberry but I really love Lauren's look. :) If you liked what you read please become a follower! You'll get updates whenever  I blog. Please?

2010 AMA: Best Dressed

The AMA's aired Sunday night on ABC. Justin Beiber was the big music winner of the night but let's be honest. The fashion is what everyone is talking about. And in that arena women of music and non-music backgrounds shimmered and shined in the spotlight.

Miley Cyrus in Marchesa [left] and Jessica Alba in Cushnie Ochs [right].

In this hand-painted Marchesa creation--with an extended train--Miley is looking grown up and beautiful. The white color contrast stunningly with her slightly tanned skin and newly dyed blonde-ish hair. Miley chose to accesorize the look with sparkly silver shoes, silver bangles, and bold red nails.

Jessica looks simple and stunning in this structure one-shoulder look. She doesn't intend to steal attention away from nominees [she presented Favorite Female Country Artist to the straigth-haired Taylor Swift] but with her effortless style Jessica steals manages to shine on the red carpet.

Fergie in Falguni and Shane [left] and Mandy Moore in Matthew Williamson [right].

Fergie stuns in a super short blue and black peacock inspired look. The strong shoulders with feathers are so chic. She pushes the limits without making her outfit look too costume-y. Nice choice Fergie. :)

Mandy Moore sparkles in this fun, young mini-dress. Her new animated-feature, Tangled, is coming out Thanksgiving weekend and I know that I'm interested, how did Disney continue on in the iconic Disney Princesses? She looks so confident--and that is key when picking out a dress.

Whitney Port in a Rafael Cennamo [left] and Heidi Klum in a sheer lace dress [right].

Whitney, sporting a darker hair-color than we're used to, shines in this Greccian inspired dress. The berry-white color and simple brown shoes are effortless. There si no doubt that Whitney looks stunning.

Ms. Klum stunned viewers with her simple lace gown. In a dress that could've easily looked like a woman in mourning, Heidi manages to look young and fashion-forward. Her dangling ball earrings bring attention to her strong bone structure and beaming style. Seal is one lucky man.

Taylor Swift in Collette Dinnigan [left] and Katy Perry in Badgley Mischka [right].

Taylor relies on her usual sparkly, girly style. But something that isn't the norm is Taylor Swift's sleek straight hair and blunt bangs. No one else grabs this amount of attention with a simple straightener. Katy takes a more subtle approach than what we're used to. No flashes lights. No blue hair. Just a subtle rose. Beautiful.
__
The highlight of the show for me was the NKOTB and BSB performance. I was a huge fan of the BSB when I was little. It was nice to see them perform again. Oh, did you like Taylor with her straight hair? Comment below!

Love, Drugs, and Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway is the star of the new film called Love and Other Drugs. Hence the title. :) The movie will be in theathers in time for Thanksgiving weekend. I'm excited. But the more important question is are you? Another equally important question: what look is your favorite?

Anne Hathaway in Valentino [left] and a fitted blazer over navy blue top [right].

The Valentino gown. The Valentino gown. Sigh. That dress is the perfect princess dress. I would not change a thing. Anne has played many princesses in her time but she's never looked more the part, than right here. The loose hair is fun and young but because it is pushed behind her shoulders, all the attention is on how beautiful that gown is. A stunning red carpet moment.

I picked two extremes. Ultimate glamour and totally casual. The navy blazer fits her in all the places it should. That is the mark of a great tailor. She is walking somewhere witha  purpose and she looks amazing. Those flats are the perfect mix of comfort and fashion--not exactly the easiest thing to do.

Anne Hathaway in Marchesa [left] and in J Brand [right].

Marchesa. The brand for glamour, fun, and beautiful details. Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig are masters of making gowns that make an impact on camera and in real life. They know how to make a woman look and feel sexy. That blue color is so vibrant and is such a great contrast with her bold, red lipstick. Brava Anne! :)

Next, another casual look. On some level I like casual looks better than red carpet looks. They give me ideas about what I want to put in my own closet, although don't get me wrong--I love the fantasy of the red carpet. But that's all it is fantasy. Most woman will never get the chance to wear a Marchesa gown to a movie premiere but we can always hope, can't we? In this look Anne is sleek, modern and totally put together.

I don't think I mentioned this earlier but Jake Gyllenhaal  is her co-star in Love and Other Drugs. Click here to check out the trailer. On another more somber note, I'd like to thank all those who have or are serving in the armed forces. Your sacrafice is appreciated. And thank you to all the families of those serving in the armed forces. I hope you have a nice Veteran's Day.

The Hathaway Diaries

Anne Hathaway is synonymous with Hollywood glamour. She is a chameleon. Anne artfully can play a dowdy girl turned fashionista, teenage princess, ground-breaking English author, and off-beat queen with equal grace and believability.

But what makes her so iconic, is her ability to connect with her fans. She seems so accessible, like the girl next door or your sister's best friend. And she appears so humble. A refreshing change of pace from the cocky celebrities that grace magazine's today.

"When you finally realize...that you can still be sexy without trying to be, it's such a great relief. When uncondensed you is enough." Hathaway in in a Miu Miu tank, draped in jewels from Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Chopard [left]. Hathaway in Isaac Mizrahi.

In her youth, Anne was very determined in pursuit of her passion for acting. "I was afraid to let anything in that might distract me...because I had so much riding on it." With actors Josephine de la Baume[left] and Raphael Personnaz [middle], wearing a bold, strapless Marchesa dress.

"I'm very open, very trusting. Some might say too trusting, because considering the amount of money that can be made from selling gossip, I could be very easily taken advantage of." Hathaway wearing Isaac Mizrahi strapless gown and Marchesa clutch.

Joking about her high hair-do Anne says, "It's Holly Golightly meets Marge Simpson." Hathway in Vera Wang [left] and with French actor, Raphael Personnaz, in a Oscar de la Renta gown and Jimmy Choo [right].

Lately I've become obsessed with the song, Animal, by Neon Trees. What songs have you been listening to? What was your favorite look? Please comment below. I love hearing your thoughts. :)
