Best Dressed: Coachella

Coachella! It was amazing. Did you watch? What acts were your favorite? This outdoor event brought in people in the hundreds--including some of my favorite fashionistas. Alexa Chung, Kate Bosworth, Ashley Greene, and others came out to show their boho-inspired style.

Thanks for reading! I'm so lucky. Please don't forget to check out my second blog and follow both of them! I'd be so grateful. All of my readers are the best.

Christopher Bailey and Friends

Fashion designers. They're the rock stars of the fashion world. And just like rock stars, its hard to think of them as people outside of their work for their label. Most people are familiar with the names Versace, Armani, Gucci, and Chanel but if challenged to pick the designers behind those brands most would surely fail.

What do designers wear in their free time? And who do they associate with? Just recently those questions got stuck in my brain. And so I got inspired and with a few clicks of my keyboard I got my answer. But I couldn't just stop there. No. I had to blog about it because that's what good bloggers do.

Christopher Bailey with Lily Donaldson [left] and Ed Westwick [right].

I started with Christoper Bailey because I adore his work. I wrote this post last night and I found it really interesting so I wrote four other like them. I plan to post them in the future when I don't have time to write or when I'm just un-inspiried. So keep an eye out for them. Aren't designers just fascinating?

Thank you for reading. Please check out my second blog and follow this one [if you feels so inclined]! I'll be back tomorrow as usual. Did you like this post? Leave thoughts in the comments.

Kate Bosworth's Street Style

Blue Crush is the movie that made me want to learn to surf. The surfing thing never worked out but my friend's mother loves this movie. She is all about female impowerment and strength. Random. But its the first thing that popped into my head. JSYK. This is the second post  I've written today. Going a bit on a blogging spree. I've really fallen in love with Kate's style. What do you think?

Kate Bosworth in a simple tee and jeans [left] and Topshop tank, light-wash jeans, and Alexander Wang bag [right].

Kate is casual in a graphic tee, jeans, and a Mulberry bag. She mixes the neutrals together to create deminsion and depth to her outfit. The leopard goes with both the dark-wash color of her jeans and the bold print on her tee. She pairs her outfit with simple black pumps--a great way to elongate the body and fix posture.

This is how to wear light-wash jeans. If done wrong, light-wash jeans can look a little tacky but Kate makes them fashion with her boho styling and loose fit. Tight light-wash jeans look horrible! They make your thighs look wider. They're just not good. But with her loose fit top, strappy sandals, and simple jewelery make it work. [accidental Tim Gunn quote]

Kate Bostworth in a pastel yellow dress [left] and a Missoni dress [right].

I don't know why pastels aren't as popular as they should be. Pastels are great on most skin-tones and its not just for Easter. The simple cut is great asset to Kate's boho closet. Her pale Chloe sunglasses and Marant booties take the look up a notch.

Kate proves that neutrals pack a huge impact. The sheer fabric is expertly draped across her body. The simple cut-out adds a bit of sexiness without showing any skin. Kate put her hair in a tight bun and she chose delicate shoes as to not distract from the expertise craftsmanship that went into constructing the beautiful dress. Her rose colored lips are pure perfection.

Red Carpet Alert!: Proenza Schouler

Thank goodness Monday is over. Only four more days until Friday! From the comments left in my last post I realize that I'm not alone in my active loathing of Mondays. Today is a post about one of my favorite brands! Yes, of course I mean Proenza Schouler.

Miley Cyrus [left] and Jessica Alba [right] both in Proenza Schouler.

Miley Cyrus looks roker in her loose fitting tank and unique leggings. She's still trying to distance herself from her Hannah Montana image with a style that is more than a little rough around the edges. Sometimes she goes a bit over board but this is just enough rock and roll for me. Jessica's look is one of my absolute favorites! A digital print sheath with matching shoes. So adorable.

Chloe Sevigny [left] and Kate Bosworth [right] both in Proenza Schouler.

Chloe Sevigny is known for her acting but more so for her trend-setting styles. She looks stunning in two classic PS pieces. Feeling bold? Follow Chloe's lead and wear socks with shoes other than your running sneakers. Kate Bosworth stood out in this dress. Although I wish the background were a different color, there is no denying she looks stunning. I want that striped piece for my closet. If only I had an event to wear it to...

Anna Paquin [left] and Rashida Jones [right] both in Proenza Schouler.

Anna Paquin stole my heart in this cobalt blue number. It was so traditional and yet unique at the same time. I think the texture of the fabric. She completed the look with simple patent leather heels and I wouldn't change a thing! Rashida Jones' style is starting to grow on me. I haven't seen much of her work but this girl can work a red carpet. Pair a simple grey top with a digital print PS mini skirt. Add shunky heels and the look is complete. I really like her makeup and hair too.

I'm in a musical rutt. The same songs playing on my iPod time after time. What are you listening to right now? Please leave any suggestions in the comments. I would be so grateful! Thanks. And I'll see you guys tomorrow. Oh! And happy 1/11/11. I can't wait until 11/11/11. :)

Red Carpet Alert!: Lots of Lace

Lace is on the carpet every year. It almost seems as if its worn everyday. But it stcks around because lace is elegant, sophsticated, and looks great on women of all sizes. Wonder what famous faces have been sporting this classic look? Ladies like Emma Watson, Lauren Conrad, and so many more! Just check it below.

Emma Watson in Rafael Lopez for Atelier Mayer [left] and Alexa Chung in Chanel [right].

Brits know how to rock delicate lace. But then Chung and Watson know how to manipulate any trend to make it work for them. Both of them are British powerhouses in the world of fashion. Adore the feathers on the bottom of Watson's dress and the unexpected band of lace around her middle.

Lauren Conrad in Marchesa [left] and Eva Longoria in a nude gown with lace overlay [right].

Lauren's look has to be my favorite. Probably because a great white moment is perfection. Add a messy bun and nude heels and the look is complete. Speaking of nude, Longoria is breathtaking in her Old Hollywood inspired gown.

Sarah Jessica Parker [left] and Kate Bosworth [right] both in Burberry.

Burberry. The word jsut always puts a smile on my face. And both these ladies look amazing in lace. Parker's pale pink Alexander McQueen bag adds a nice pop of color to a mostly neutral look. And Bosworth looks stunning in cream. Simply adore!

With so many ways to use lace, is there any question why these lovely ladies love the look? [nice use of alliteration, huh? my english teacher would be so proud] Which look is your favorite? I'm always a sucker for Burberry but I really love Lauren's look. :) If you liked what you read please become a follower! You'll get updates whenever  I blog. Please?

Style Highlights: Kate Bosworth

Kate Bosworth has a new movie coming out, Warrior's Way. Yes. The incredibly beautiful Kate Bosworth will be coming to your theaters on December 3rd. The film is more of an action flick, not quite my style, but who knows? Style star Ms. Bosworth always looks stunning whether she's promoting her new movies or not. Need some examples? Just scroll down. :)

Kate Bosworth in Calvin Klein Collection [left] and ostrich skirt paired with sheer white blouse [right].

Kate's red pumps and red lips are stunning. Simple and bold at the same time. The nude dress is tight fitting and following the minimalistic trend that has been sweeping the runways. Very Calvin Klein. Add a simple clutch and the look in complete.

Kate loves red and she looks wonderful in it. The color of her skirt is unexpected with its rusty undertones. It is perfection juxtaposition with the crisp and clean lines of her button-down shirt. Her sleek, straight hair is simply  beautiful.

Kate Bosworth in Calvin Klein Collection [left] and a peacoat paired with dark-wash jeans [right].

Boho mixed with minimalism. No one does it better. Her side braid is unexpected and matches the asymmetrical look of her white Calvin Klein. Kate slipped on a pair of sandal heels as the final touch. Kate has beautiful red carpet style but here's a look at her street style. Simple jeans, pointy-toe flats, an over sized camel bag, and black pea coat complete the look.

I'm a little dizzy as I write this. Today I donated blood for the first time. It hurt but I feel so much better. It's not everyday that I save a life and there's no better feeling. Ever donated blood? I suggest that you do. It's quick. You don't need money and you're helping someone who desperately needs it. Mini speech over. I'll get off my soap box. :)

Oh, please scroll down to read my second post of the day. :) I know. I'm so ambitious.
