When Elizabeth Met James

If in case you didn't know, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are child stars turned wildly respected fashion designers. Their line, Elizabeth and James, is my favorite although the do have a price-r line called, The Row and a teen line for JCPenny called Olsenboye.
__
Kim Kardashian is a huge fan of Elizabeth and James. So are Hayden Panettiere and Lauren Conrad and really, countless celebrities. :) I'm a bit nostaligc because I grew up on Mary-Kate and Ashley movies, books, and clothing. Yes, I shopped at Wal-Mart as a child.
__
Enjoy Mary-Kate and Ashley's genius. Please, tell me what you think in the comments below.

Cameron Diaz in Elizabeth and James minidress and Blazer. Hayden Panettiere in Elizabeth and James dress.

Cameron is the tom-girl with style. She works with Rachel Zoe, from Bravo's The Rachel Zoe Project. Adore that show to pieces. But I was a fan long before RZP. She's confident--the one thing that takes any outift to the next level--and she has great legs. Let's be honest!

Hayden has definately grown up from the little girl in Remember the Titans. But now that she's legal, she has great tatse in clothing. This particular Elizabeth and James dress gives me a 70's feel. The sleeves are fantastic. Especially when combined with that short hem and brilliant pastel color.

Lauren Conrad in an Elizabeth and James draped skirt and Louboutins. Kristin Cavallari in a Elizabeth and James top with Paige Denim jeans.

Lauren looks stunning. But this is what Elizabeth and James is known for. They are known for their basic pieces. They're pieces that you will have in your closet forever. Lauren knows all about basic pieces. She has a classic style with a twist and is currently on two covers at the same time--Cosmo and Teen Vogue.

Wow. I just realized that I put Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari in the same post. Both were the leading lady of The Hills but one is clearly more successful than the other. Are you going to make me say which one? :) But Kristin's style is more va-va-voom. She likes to be sexy--note the low neckline.

All of these women: Lauren, Kristin, Hayden, and Cameron all have such different styles but Elizabeth and James make pieces that every girl can incorporate into their closet. :)

Trivia Question: Why did Mary-Kate and Ashley name their line Elizabeth and James? Think you know the answer? Comment below. Bye. See you tomorrow or sometime soon. Peace!

Flying Solo

I just finished reading the September 2010 issue of Marie Claire. The one with Mary-Kate Olsen on the cover. Honestly I believe it was one of the most well put together issues I've seen in a long, long time.

It hard articles that caught my interest and photo shoots that took my breath away. A true fashion icon [in my humble opinion] graced the cover--rather than celebrities that can't tell Chanel from H&M. [wow. that sounded really snobby and mean. but again this is just my humble opinion and i didn't mean it to come across that way]

Anyway, this issue reminded me of when Ashley Olsen graced the cover last summer [click here to read the article written by the ever talented Lucy Kaylin]. I picked that issue up and it made me realize that she was no longer my tween idol but there were different reasons to admire her. Ashley's youthful innocent glow was replaced with a sophisticated sense of confidence.

Her posture was proud and strong but at the same time graceful and vulnerable. [traits that i completely and utterly admire in a woman.] Plus, I adore her clothing lines The Row and Elizabeth and James. I tend to be more attracted to the later but the Row is still an amazing.
I loved that spread so much and I knew that I had to post it here! Enjoy. :)

Amazing. :) Marie Claire is one of my favorite magazines--ever. I read Seventeen [i've been subscribed since jr. high], Marie Claire, and Elle. I sometimes read a few others but those are my main ones I enjoy.

I know I already said this but the latest issue of Marie Claire was amazing. I read it on for the hour I sat at the gate waiting to board my plane and then spent the hour long plane ride reading it. Isn't that amazing? Normally I skim through magazines and I'm done in like fifteen minutes. An hour if I'm lucky.

But two hours? That's insane. :) Loved this issue so much. Keep up the good work MC! :)

Nothing Comes Close to the Gloden Coast

What is my wardrobe sorely missing? A fringe jacket. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have forced me to come to this realization. I saw these pictures of them sporting this stunning black fringe jacket and I just knew that I needed one just like it. :)

I'm also in love with Ashley's shoes. They look like their studded. Adorable. I'm all about the details. :) But back to the topic at hand. I neeeeed a fringed jacket. Wait, come to think of it I don't think I own anything that is in anyway fringed. Jeez! Where have I been? :) Don't worry I'm going shopping this weekend and I plan to pick something up.

Sigh. But I don't know if I could pull off a fringe jacket. Hmmm....I don't know. :) Comment below if you think that I could pull off this look. Please be honest. My feelings won't be hurt. I'll just be forced to admire from afar.

I don't really have anything to talk about so this will be a little random. And hopefully interesting. But bear with me.

School has finally come to an end! Thank goodness. I am just so burned out. But I promised myself I would try to complain less and try to stay a little more positive. So I'm going to talk about some songs that I've been loving. I don't know what it is but I've been obsessed with Katy Perry lately.

California Gurls and If We Ever Meet Again. Oh my gosh! These are the best summer songs ever! Katy is so fun and I love the fact that this girl doesn't take herself too seriously. I mean, did anyone see her blue hair at the MTV Movie Awards? So amazing. I loved it.

Has the music video for California Gurls come out yet? I know that I looked for it a last week but I'm too lazy to look right now. And as soon as I post this I will not be able to resist and I'll head over to YouTube. :) I saw the sneak peak and I'm really excited. :)

But oh! Speaking of music videos: Has anyone seen Lady Gaga's music video for Alejandro? Suuper awkward. But I mean, I kind of expect it. It is Lady Gaga. I think it would almost be weirder if she just put out a normal music video. One with no men in fishnets and high heels. But that's probably just me. :) But I still love her music. <3 Bad Romance!

Anyway, I know that this was totally random. I had no idea what I was going to write about when I sat down but I think it turned out pretty decent. It's like the In-Class write that you don't prepare for but get a 'B' on it. It's not an 'A' but you'll take it. :)

I'm planning a Victoria Secret Fragrances Lust List. My sister and I went to their store this past weekend and I literally wanted everything in the store. VS PINK is a girl's best friend. Who needs diamonds when they have a Victoria Secrets gift card? :)

Bye guys! Please Follow me! :)

Cobalt :)

This color is amazing! :) I'm in love. Hence the fact that I'm dedicating an entire blog post to it. It still doesn't overcome my favorite color (purple) but its a very close second. I just fell in love with Ashley's dress. :) Sigh.

Ashley Olsen at the InStyle and Warner Brothers Golden Globes After Party. Wearing
Erdem Minidress with cobalt Rhinestoned-Buckled Pumps.

Halle Berry at the London Premiere of Things We Lost in the Fire. Wearing Cobalt
Versace Gown and Amrapali of Jaipur Jewelry.

Ali Larter Pre-Emmy Party for Heroes. Wearing Satin Dress, Silver Jimmy
Choo Heels, and Diamond Bracelet.

Robin Wright Penn at Photocall for A Christmas Carol. Wearing Matthew Williamson
Jacket from H&M, Simple White Tank, Strappy Sandals, and J Brand Black
Skinny Jeans.

I think I did really well on my math quiz. I actually understood the material. That's always good, right? :)

Tomorrow will be a relaxing day, I hope. Tonight I just have to continue to make my way through Brave New World. Which is surprisingly a good book. Despite its super weird/creepy/random parts. I like it.
.
Do any of you have sisters that like to pretend they're your mom? My sister totally just spent five minutes ranting and raving about how messy our shared bathroom was. Ugh. And I'm like, Hello? Half of the stuff on the counter is your stuf too! So frustrating...

She's my little sister too...Shouldn't I be the mother-like sister?

Anyway, just learned my cat can open doors. She's super smart, well obviously. I mean she can open doors. I thought this was the coolest thing ever. Are most cats able to open doors? Or is she just suuuper talented? Please tell me. I don't want to brag to all my friends and then learn that its completely normal.

Sigh. APUSH Test on Thursday. Yuck. :/ I got to get studying. Bye! :)

A Chic Holiday

As some of you might know, Elizabeth and James is one of my favorite lines. If that name sounds kind of similar you may also know it as Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's fashion line.

I know many of you just cringed. But despite what you say about the movies that they make (although personally I grew up on those movies and I loved them. I was the biggest Mary-Kate and Ashley fan growing up.) these girls have a totally unique style.

I love this brand. And even though I can't afford most of the garmets. I still like to look. :)

Anyway, the Holiday Collection has come out and here of the highlights in my opinion.

Anyway, I'm super excited. I don't feel that this Holiday collection is as strong as their Fall one but I still think that they have some really gorgeous garmets.

What are you favorite designers? Please Comment and Follow! :D

Elizabeth & James

Since my first blog today was more of an introduction than a blog. I want to give you guys a taste of what a normal day on my blog will be like. I still don't know what my voice will be, after all this is only my 2nd blog, but I'm going to make sure its super relatable.

The summer is coming to an end and that means Fall Collections are coming out. Yeah! :D I just saw Elizabeth & James' new Fall Collection (click here to see for yourself) & I must say I'm in love! Its a lot more conservative, color wise than their summer collection. But thats how most fall collections seem to be. After all summer is fun in the sun while fall is more work oriented clothes. And it gets colder so more layers are also seen.

But this collection is great for any girl who needs basic jackets, dresses, shirts that will stay in their closets forver. And I mean forever. (And whenever you're buying pricey designer pieces make sure that it will be something that will last forever) These pieces are made up of greys, blacks, whites. All great basic colors to go with any flamboyant pieces you bought last season.

My favorites (even though I could never afford them) are the Degas dress, Marissa top, & New CPO Jacket. I don't know why I torture myself & let myself look at all the stuff I could never afford. But I do. :) Fashion desginers are my guilty pleasure. I love Burberry, Juicy Couture, & Alice + Olivia. They're way out of my price range but I still enjoy looking.

What do you think about the collection? & what desginers are you totally obsessed with?
