Best Dressed: Coachella

Coachella! It was amazing. Did you watch? What acts were your favorite? This outdoor event brought in people in the hundreds--including some of my favorite fashionistas. Alexa Chung, Kate Bosworth, Ashley Greene, and others came out to show their boho-inspired style.

Steal Their Style

Steal Their Style

1. Join the Military
Dakota Fanning is slowly becoming a well-known fashionista. She looks effortless and carefree as she goes home after a long day of shopping. If you want to add a bit of edge to your outfit, simply get inspired by the military. Check out this winter trench and cozy drawstring jacket. Or maybe splurge on this cotton military button-up.

2. Do the Denim
Every girl has her favorite pair of jeans. Next time mix it up with a cute denim vest like Jessica Alba's. It will be perfect as the weather warms up for spring. It is important to know that denim on denim is a fashion statement not a fashion no-no. Try a cropped vest to show off your figure. Or maybe you'll like this acid wash vest for a bigger contrast between your jeans.

3. Embellished
Carey Mulligan is one of the hottest British starlets at the moment. And she isn't getting rave reviews for only her acting, her style is sophisticated and drool-worthy. A simple way to add elegance to an outfit is an embellished top. Embellished does not mean gaudy. Try this delicate grey tank or tribal-inspired tank. Or if you're a bit more adventurous check out this embellished cardigan.

4. The Wider the Better
Nicole Richie, boho star, has been spotted sporting these adorable wide-brim hats all over town. They're a simple way to stay cool, stay chic, and hide from the paparazzi. Get a caramel hat with a adorable heart detailing or go for a more structured straw hat. This wool wide-brim hat is super affordable and the ties will make sure it stays secure through rain, wind, and paparazzi.

Don't forget to stop by my personal blog! And I would be so thankful if you followed either, or both, of my blogs. Thank you to all my lovely readers and I'll see you tomorrow!

Rachel Zoe and Friends

Rachel Zoe is pregnant! :) Or at least that's what I heard on E!News. I'm so excited. Rachel, Brad, and Rodger are so fun to watch on The Rachel Zoe Project. Did anyone see the spoof that was featured on one of the later episodes. I love the way she talks. :) Take a look below!

Anyway, to celebrate her rumored pregnancy I thought I'd do a post featuring her and her designer friends. I know. She's such a lucky girl. I wish I could hang out with Marc Jacobs and Nicole Richie.

Rachel Zoe with Diane von Furstenberg and Marc Jacobs.

Rachel Zoe and Zac Posen.

Rachel and the women of Marchesa, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig.

Rachel Zoe and fellow Boho Queen, Nicole Richie.

I wish her all the luck in this exciting and life-changing time. :) I think she would be an amazing mother. She just has to slow down. And try to conquer the fashion world at a slower pace. Plus, her children would be the best-dressed children in Hollywood.

Bye! See you guys soon. Um...if you want more Viva la Fashion follow on Facebook or Subscribe through Google Friend Finder! What do you think of Rachel?

These Shoes Were Made for Walking

Good afternoon. :) I have so much homework right now and I'm procrastinating. Does anyone else have a procrastination problem? I get my schoolwork done but I wait until the last possible second. And I mean the last possible second, like the period before its due.

Okay, well I'm going to do an I Love My... post featuring one of my all time favorite style icons. Yes. I mean Ms. Nicole Richie. She is a bohemian goddess.

Wearing YSL Platform Pumps, Sheer Black Tights, and a Long-Sleeved Grey Printed Dress.

Wearing YSL Platform Pumps, Black Katy Rodriguez Skirt, Mui Mui Bag, Black Tights, and 3/4 Sleeve Turtleneck.

Wearing YSL Black Pumps, Black Tights, Red Sonia Rykiel Double Breasted Short Coat.

Nicole Richie always looks amazing. My friend May and I always compare notes on what celebrtie's closet we would steal and Nicole has consistantly been in my top ten for like three solid years. She looks bananas. :)

This is totally random but this past weekend my family and I went to The Rainforest Cafe to celebrate my sister's birthday. I went once when I was young, like five or seven, and I vaugely remembered it but it was so much more awesome than I what I was expecting. Their Rasta Pasta is the bomb! And their Key Western [i think that's what it's called but correct me if i'm wrong] smothie was delicious!! :)

It was amazing. I really loved the thunderstorms that come through every so often. I know I sound really lame. I'm sorry. But those elephant robots were adorable. I even took a picture with it. I know. I know. Dork alert. :) Comment below and please follow on Facebook!

Round and Round

Where have my "I love my..." posts gone? I don't know where they went but they're back! The last time I did one of these was over a month ago. :) These are my favorite posts because they show a piece's versatility.

Today's guest star is Nicole Richie and her Chanel glasses. :)

[L] Chanel Sunglasses, Givenchy Nightengale Bag, Jet by John Eshaya Light Wash Skinny Jeans, Winter Kate Suede Jacket, White Wool Hat, and Teal Scarf. [R] Chanel Sunglasses, Givenchy Nightenglae Bag, Jet by John Eshaya Skinny Jeans, Nude Flats, White Tank, and Winter Kate Buttoned Vest.

[L] Chanel Sunglasses, Black Buttoned-Up Shirt Dress, and Snakeskin Louboutin Heels. [R] Chanel Sunglasses, House of Harlow Booties, Light-Wash Shorts, Sheer Black Tights, Black Tee, Black Cross-Body Bag, and Yellow Printed Kimono.

Nicole has a new book coming out called Priceless. It's the story of a Charlotte Williams as she escapes to New Orleans. After her father pleads guilty to a massive Wall Street fraud Charlotte manages to find allies in the great southern city who help her discover her unique voice.

Are you going to check it out? And also I'm so excited for Lauren Conrad's new style book aptly called Lauren Conrad Style. :) Who are your favorite authors?

This is Priceless

Nicole Richie has been making the rounds promoting her new book, Priceless. I actually caught her interview on GMA. Nicole is a style icon. Its seems that no matter what she's doing, she looks effortlessly boho chic. And don't we all remember her in her Simple Life days?
_
That was soooo long ago. My sister loved that show. Now, Nicole has transformed into a classy woman with two children and marraige in the future [maybe?]. She was very coy on GMA. But I learned that Nicole had written a book four years ago.

It's called The Truth About Diamonds: A Novel. I don't remember it coming out. Do you? Maybe I was just in another world at that time. Sometimes that happens. But to celebrate Nicole, I'm doing a post about her style that has filled the pages of countless bloggers. [you guys know its true]

Nicole is just shopping in Beverly Hills. Her street style is simple and very, very bohemian. The floopy hat is so casual compared to her over-the-knee boots and vintage fur vest. She's a master at mixing pieces whether its patterns or textures or...just clothing in general. :)

That pop of red is to die! :) Sigh. I know I sound so stupid but I'm a huge fan of bright, bold pops of colors. Its so simple and red looks so good on brunettes. I don't know why, I'm sure there's some reason, but the contrast between the brown and the red is just amazing. [oh, in case you couldn't guess i have brown hair]

First of all, let me say that those cut out shoes are amazing! How fashion forward, yet entirely wearable. And don't get me wrong I love editorial but ready to wear is my bread and butter. And also only Nicole Richie could pull off tights, denim shorts, a bejewled vest, and Louboutins without looking like a gypsy escapee.

[this is random but everytime i write the word escape, i mentall say "es-caw-pay" like from Finding Nemo. my friend used to do it all the time and now its worn off on me]

I'm off to Florida in a couple days. My school has a break coming up so its the perfect time. I know I might have mentioned this already but I'm planning on pre-writing blogs and then posting them, so if my next couple posts seem weird, or odd, or any other synonym for not normal, then you'll know why.

Umm...is there anything [besides Disney World and Universal Studios] that I should do when I'm down there? Advice is gladly taken.

Check out my Facebook page. There should be a link on the bottom of my left side bar. Please become a fan. I update that more with pictures from my life if you're interested. I haven't updated much lately but I'm tyring to change that. :) Bye!

So Classic. So Timeless.

Summer. Classic. Chic. Fun. Adventure.

This is what I hope my summer is like. :) But I'd also like to look totally chic for summer and I turn to my celebrity inspiration to get ideas. I think I might do a series about summer chic-ness. Hmm...the possibilities.

Anyway, who better to start off a summer of fun and chic-ness (I'm not quite sure if that's a word or not) than Nicole Richie? Her Bohemian style transitions effortlessly into summer. So that's where I'm going to start my inspiration journey. :) Inspiration journey. Wow. That makes this sound like a deep, life changing experience.

Ok. I'll just get to the point of this blog. How to "Dress Like..." Nicole Richie! :)

Tennis summer camp started last week. Oh. My. Goodness. I have never run that much in my life. I don't know why it became super hot as soon as I started playing tennis. And I don't mean like 60-70 degrees. I'm talking like 70-80 degrees hot!

I know some people are thinking, 80 degrees? That's nothing. But I live in the North. The only time it gets hot is in July and August. :) I'm also really red because I wasn't smart enough to reapply my sunscreen. Not very smart...

I'm bummed that the USA is out of the World Cup! :( I can't believe we lost. After we'd come so far! Did anyone see the game against Algeria? Intense. I'm not normally a big soccer fan but it was nice watching soccer.

I don't know if I mentioned this but I planted a garden about a week and a half ago and some of my plants are coming up! I love gardening. It doesn't give me instant gratification but I like being able to see the progress I've made, you know? :)

I'm trying to be a little bit more organic and healthy. Plus, its just cool being able to say that you grow your own strawberries. Did you know there are purple carrots? I had no idea.

Sorry. :) This was a long post. But I feel like I haven't been blogging as often as I should. So I'm making up for it in one kind of long blog. :D Happy summer.

Short and Sweet

The time is almsot here. Yes! Of course I mean summer/spring. And what better way to celebrate than by breaking out your demin cutoffs? Okay, its still pretty chilly where I live and so I know I'll have to suffer through a few more weeks of wet and cold  before I can wear anything even resembling spring wear.

But the celebs have started sporting their warmer clothes and so it is only a matter of time before I can too! I'm trying to stay positive here. :) I have to stay positive. I am sick of cold weather! Still staying positive. :) Hahahaha.

Here are some celebs rocking the most baisc summer necessity. The always cute, denim shorts. :)

Nicole Richie Out in Santa Monica. Wearing Havaianas Top Flip Flops, Ray Ban 3214
Semi-Rimless Avaitor Sunglasses, Light Wash Denim Cutoffs, Simple Grey Shirt, and
Creme Jacket with Ethnic Detailing.

Ashley Tisdale Leaving Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Wearing Ray Ban Wayfarers,

Miley Cyrus Out in Malibu. Wearing Miley Cyrus & Max Azria Destressed

 Skull Design

Hey. Don't you wish that your school had a man choir? :) Doesn't that sound amazing? A bunch of guys getting together to sing. I love it when a guy can sing. Don't most girls love to be serenaded?

Here's a high school club from Washington State and they're singing, I Gotta Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas. I think the guy who beat-boxes is so cool! Click here to check it out. :)

I know that they're probably not professionals but I love their dance moves! Anyway, I thought it was cool so I shared it with you guys. :)

What is the one thing you absolutely love about summer/spring? Please Comment!! :D
